Life today is pretty busy isn’t it? Too often we get wrapped up in the hustle and bustle that we don’t make our fitness routine a priority. Part of starting a fitness routine or staying on track with your current routine is to make time. I suggest you look at your calendar and make an appointment with yourself. Block out a time each day or several days a week that is your time with yourself to do whatever physical activity you choose. Physically write the appointment down or type it into your electronic calendar. Putting things in writing means we are more likely to do them. Then, treat your appointment with yourself as a high-priority meeting. Do not reschedule, put off, or cancel this appointment. Treat it with the utmost importance. Whether you are just starting out or have been engaged in regular fitness activities for a long time, making an appointment with yourself will help you to increase the amount of physical fitness in your daily life.
Being active does not have to be boring. One way to make it really fun is to find a fitness buddy. You’ll really have fun if you have lots of fitness buddies. What is a fitness buddy? They are someone who will be active with you. Maybe you’ll go throw a frisbee to one another or do fun activities during recess together. The whole point of having someone to do active things with is that it makes it more fun and you’ll be more likely to do active things if you have someone who counts on you to help them out too. Another great thing about having a fitness buddy is that you know exactly who you can call when you need someone to play a game with or go for a walk. This week, try to find one person who will be active with you. Make a deal to track your activity points together and to be active every single day of the week.
